On 6 July 2006, Yantian International Container Terminals (YICT) welcomed the maiden vessel call of the "K"Line's "Barcelona Bridge"; one of five 4,000-TEU vessels deployed by the CKYH Alliance (COSCO, "K"Line, Yang Ming and Hanjin) to their newly launched Asia-US East Coast (AWE5) service.
This direct Asia-US East Coast service calls at Yantian every Thursday and includes a port rotation of Hong Kong, Yantian, Shanghai, Ningbo, Savannah, Charleston, Norfolk, Miami and Hong Kong.
