Reduce costs and increase efficiency to better serve the "Belt and Road Initiative"
The railway between Xiangtang of Nanchang and YANTIAN is 810km long. The new container depot in Xiangtang covers an area of 53.3 hectares, which can operate 2,400 trains per year, with six inbound and outbound trains respectively on a daily basis. In 2023, it is expected to complete a throughput of 16,000 TEU. The new inland port can help streamline clearance process, reduce logistics and transportation costs, and improve the efficiency of logistics services. In this way, the capacity and competitiveness of freight train service for international trade in Jiangxi Province can be further enhanced to support Jiangxi Province's integration into the "Belt and Road Initiative" and promote the "one hub and four centers" development strategy of Nanchang. The establishment of the inland port is also part of the effort of the government to help exporters in Jiangxi tackle challenges, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.

A new inland port for green and sustainable development
As the container hub port of the Greater Bay Area and the largest container port in the world run by a single terminal operator, YANTIAN's intermodal service became operational in 1993, making YANTIAN one of the first ports in China to launch sea-rail intermodal transport. YANTIAN has been expanding its intermodal service network and Nanchang Inland Port is the fourth inland port it established this year. Currently, YANTIAN has 10 inland ports in Pinghu South, Changping, Heyuan, Longchuan, Heshan, Jiangmen, Liling, Yueyang, Ganzhou, and Nanchang, and launched 27 intermodal services, with the intermodal throughput generated by international trade in the forefront of domestic ports.
Looking ahead, YANTIAN will continue to work together with all parties involved to improve the network of intermodal service. By leveraging the role of Shenzhen as a port-based national logistics hub, it will strive to better serve the quality growth of international trade of China, contribute to the country's peak carbon emission and carbon neutrality targets, and secure the supply chain and the industrial chain.
