Terminal-of-choice for cold chain imports in South China

YANTIAN has been engaged in the cold chain import and export services for many years, and has grown into a terminal-of-choice for cold chain imports in South China, the third largest port for imported frozen meat in China, accounting for over 95% of all frozen meat imports in Shenzhen.

Our fruit import service is also a noteworthy highlight. As of July, YANTIAN has imported 5 times more fruit than last year. In view of the Chilean Cherry Commission's forecast that the total cherry exports this quarter could increase by 25% compared with the previous quarter, about 440,000 tons, we worked with the shipping lines for the increment of express services for cherry imports, which sail directly to YANTIAN to cope with the peak season, so that this delicious fruit can be quickly distributed to South China and all over the country.

Upgrade cold chain service with the backing of the Customs

With more than 4,000 reefer sockets in the container yard, YANTIAN is able to meet the huge growth in demand for import and export of reefer cargoes. We have two dedicated inspection sites with constant temperature on-dock and off-dock, allowing safe and fast inspection of all kinds of reefer cargoes.

With the strong support of the Customs and Yantian District Government, part of the Baohui reefer warehouses adjacent to the terminal has been upgraded to a designated inspection site for the Customs on imported meat, which can greatly improve the inspection capability of the terminal. Another part has been used as a designated inspection facility for supervisory authorities on imported fruits to facilitate the disinfection and nucleic acid test, helping customers save logistics costs. 

Dapeng Customs attaches great importance to the cold chain import service in Yantian Port and plans to offer more manpower support to ensure fast and smooth clearance during the peak season at the end of the year. YANTIAN also set up a dedicated project team for our customers to optimise and improve the operational process and efficiency, making clearance faster.

Over 100 weekly services connecting to major destinations worldwide

YANTIAN, as an international shipping hub in the Greater Bay Area, has more than 100 weekly services. We will continue to strengthen cooperation with shipping lines to attract more services to call at YANTIAN so that we can import a more diverse range of cargoes from all over the world. More importantly, we will keep maintaining close contact with importers to provide them with one-stop services catering to their needs.

As the world's first import-themed expo of national level, the CIIE allows all countries to share the opportunities of China's large market and provides people with rich offerings to enjoy a better life. With the new initiatives rolled out by the Customs, YANTIAN, as the terminal-of-choice for cold chain imports in South China and the bridge between the domestic and overseas markets, will join hands with shipping lines to have more import shipping services available, upgrade our facilities, and help improve clearance efficiency to support China to open its door wider to the rest of the world, sharing its great potential to build a more open and prosperous community with shared future for mankind.
