YANTIAN, as the international shipping hub in the Greater Bay Area, the preferred port-of-call for mega vessels and preferred port for cross-border e-commerce in South China, owns 20 large deep-water container berths, which can safely and efficiently handle cargo import, export, and transshipment services for multiple mega-vessels simultaneously. It works with shipping lines to offer more than 100 weekly services covering major ports in the East U.S., West U.S., Europe, South America, Australia, and Asia. In addition, with the ability to handle a container in just 2 seconds on average, it assures that the industry chain and supply chain can run smoothly.

YANTIAN has long been expanding its intermodal service network, and by far launched 10 inland ports and 27 intermodal services, including Changsha, Yueyang, Changde, Zhuzhou, Liling, Hengyang, and Yongzhou inland ports in Hunan. These inland ports and rails leverage Hunan Province's geographical advantages and extend the port functions to Hunan, Yunnan, Jiangxi, and other inland areas, streamlining the "last mile" of cargo transportation and promoting the quality development of the intermodal service network.

During the Expo, YANTIAN, together with the Shenzhen Transport Bureau and Yantian Port Group, visited the Port Office and the Department of Commerce of Hunan Province respectively. The officials of Port Office and Department of Commerce said that Yantian Port is a very important international logistics channel to the south of Hunan Province and has made great contributions to the economic growth in Hunan. In the future, Hunan can extend in-depth cooperation with YANTIAN in the development of five international logistics channels, and inland ports, port alliances, logistics support, etc.

We also visited enterprises of manufacturers in Hunan Province to introduce the development of YANTIAN, as well as how to allow local enterprises to enjoy quality and efficient services offered by an international shipping hub on their doorstep. With abundant shipping services to Europe and U.S., it serves 1/3 of the import and export container traffic of Guangdong province and 1/4 of the container volume generated by the trade between China and United States. On average, there are 4 vessels serving Europe routes and 6 vessels deployed on U.S. services call Yantian Port on a daily basis, which offer importers and exporters of Hunan efficient gateways to go global, helping them explore  the international market.

Looking ahead, YANTIAN will continue to work together with all parties involved to improve the layout of inland ports and promote the quality development of intermodal service network, making more contributions to the achievement of the country’s peak carbon emission and carbon neutrality targets, and ensuring the smooth operations of the supply chain and the industry chain.
