On the morning of November 21, the first direct feeder service from Gaolan Port to Yantian Port was officially launched. The new service will be calling at YANTIAN three times a week.
On November 21, "Ming Hang 008", fully loaded with cargoes for shipment to destinations worldwide by container vessels via YANTIAN, departed from Gaolan Port for YANTIAN. This is another new feeder service following the Shenwan Port-Yantian Port service launched just two weeks ago to serve the Greater Bay Area.
Previously, there was no direct service from Zhuhai West to Yantian Port, making the cargo shipping between the two ports costly and time-consuming. Especially since the outbreak of the COVID-19, smooth cargo shipping has been affected and enterprises in China saw a drop in demand. In this context, to boost market confidence and meet challenges brought by the epidemic, YANTIAN worked with Zhuhai International Container Terminal (Gaolan) Limited to launch the first direct feeder service from Gaolan Port to Yantian Port, a more cost-effective, convenient, efficient, and greener logistics solution for importers and exporters in Zhuhai that saves the hassle of two transfers compared to traditional land transportation performed by trucks.
The new service allows YANTIAN to attract more cargoes from the vast hinterland and expand its international trade service network. YANTIAN highly values the cooperation with Gaolan Port and is very pleased to build a long-term partnership with it to launch feeder services and build a robust port alliance, offering more efficient logistics solutions for export for customers across the cargo catchment areas of Yantian Port.
Looking ahead, through innovative logistics models and well-developed service network, YANTIAN will harness its service strength, enhance its ties with partners of the Greater Bay Area and establish itself as a world-class shipping hub.
