On 30 May 2023, in order to promote the transparent declaration and business development of cross-border e-commerce in Yantian District, a seminar was held at YANTIAN.

The seminar was hosted by the Industry and Information Technology Bureau of Yantian District and co-organised by YANTIAN. Over 60 guests attended the event, including representatives from the Industry and Information Technology Bureau, Dapeng Customs, Meisha Customs, Yantian Integrated Bonded Area Service Center, Shenzhen Cross-border E-commerce Supply Chain Service Association, cross-border e-commerce enterprises, and shipping lines.

The seminar was opened by Wu Guowei, Deputy Director of the Industry and Information Technology Bureau of Yantian District, who said, "This seminar aims to strengthen the communication and exchange among the government, customs, industry associations, and enterprises, to enhance their understanding of the cross-border e-commerce, to improve the import and export declaration and management capabilities of enterprises, and to promote the compliance with law/regulation and sound development of the cross-border e-commerce industry in Yantian District. We hope to assist enterprises to achieve high-quality development and make industries such as port logistics and cross-border e-commerce stronger."

 According to the latest statistics of the Ministry of Commerce, the import and export volume of cross-border e-commerce in Shenzhen in 2022 exceeded CNY190 billion, topping the Guangdong Province and leading the country. On April 26, Shenzhen officially launched the pilot project for cross-border e-commerce export declaration “sunshine”, a milestone in guiding the improvement of compliance management of the local cross-border e-commerce industry. At the seminar, Dapeng Customs introduced in detail the relevant policies on cross-border e-commerce customs clearance and supervision, saying that the “sunshine” declaration pilot project led by Yantian District Government is initiated to help more cross-border e-commerce enterprises to run compliantly and sustainably in all aspects in overseas markets.

With the implementation of the "Five Ones" project in Yantian District, the completion of 9610 (B2C) and 1210 (bonded trade) checkpoints, and the rapid development of cross-border e-commerce goods return and transshipment services, the scale of cross-border e-commerce in Yantian District continues to grow and the industry is increasingly innovative. In the past six months, Meisha Customs has been vigorously promoting the development of 9610 and 1210 services, and its sea and air transportation facilities have all been tested and put into use. Meisha Customs said it will rely on Yantian Port's advantages as a natural deep-water port, the last port of call in China for line-haul vessels, and its extensive service network to drive the development of marine transport for 9610 service in the district.

 We believe that with the concerted efforts of government departments, customs, industry associations, and enterprises, the cross-border e-commerce industry will develop more healthily and rapidly in the future. As an important import and export gateway in South China and the "Honorary President Organization" of SZCBEA Yantian Branch, YANTIAN will continue to expand its multimodal transportation, provide better logistics services, and link up with the government and industry peers to grow together. We will make every effort to ensure the smooth and stable operations of the supply chain and the industry chain in the Greater Bay Area, while acting as a "communication bridge" to empower the high-quality development of cross-border e-commerce and fully support Shenzhen to be a logistics center with global influence.
