On 7 July 2023, the first train fully loaded with hardware products and machinery from Yangjiang arrived at YANTIAN, marking the official launch of the YANTIAN-Yangjiang sea-rail service. This is a new premium service for cargo owners in Guangdong, following the YANTIAN-Jiangmen sea-rail service opened last year.
In order to ensure the smooth operation of the new service, Shenzhen Pingyan Multimodal Company Limited (PML) seeks support from China Railway Guangzhou Group, while leveraging its rich experience in multimodal operations and customer resources to promote the YANTIAN-Jiangmen sea-rail service, properly arrange for the use of and the return of containers, as well as the train schedule, so as to attract more cargo owners in Yangjiang to transport their goods through the new service.
01 Saving costs and improving efficiency for exporters in Yangjiang
Yangjiang is located in the southwest coast of Guangdong Province. It mainly exports goods like knives and scissors, kitchen utensils, aquatic products, and plastic products, and has established trade relations with more than 170 countries and regions, including the US and the EU, a perfect match for YANTIAN's extensive European and US services.
Previously, many enterprises in Yangjiang would choose road transportation to ship goods to Yantian Port for export. The new sea-rail service opens up the railroad channel from Yangjiang to YANTIAN, offering a more stable, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly logistics solution with larger transport volume for local cargo owners, meeting the growing logistics needs in Yangjiang.
There are 2-3 services per week with fixed schedule to assure timely cargo transportation to YANTIAN, where goods will be loaded onto mega-vessels to be quickly delivered to buyers all over the world.
02 Vigorously expanding cargo catchment areas
This year, in the face of the complex international trade landscape, PML continued to strengthen market expansion, including the establishment of Chenzhou Inland Port, the opening of YANTIAN-Chenzhou Service, YANTIAN-Ganzhou Cold Chain Service, YANTIAN-Zhuzhou ZIM Service, YANTIAN-Yangjiang Service, and the holding of promotion events in Changping, Nanchang, and Chongqing.
Up to now, PML has opened 11 inland ports and 30 sea-rail services, covering the Greater Bay Area, Southwest and Central China. From January to June this year, the cumulative container throughput of YANTIAN's sea-rail services has increased by 15% year-on-year.
In the future, YANTIAN will keep enhancing the cooperation with all parties involved to launch more sea-rail services and open more inland ports to allow more enterprises to be closely connected with our extensive shipping network and quality logistics services, making our due contributions to the fulfillment of carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals, and stabilising and optimsing the supply chain and the industry chain.
