YANTIAN Welcomes Maiden Voyage of 8 Mega-vessels with over 24,000 TEU Capacity in Just 45 days

With ONE INFINITY berthing at Berth #16 of Yantian Port, YANTIAN has welcomed the maiden voyage of 8 largest container vessels of the world, each with a carrying capacity of over 24,000 TEU, in just 45 days. This year, 15 "giants of the sea" berth at YANTIAN, far exceeding that of other ports in South China, ranking top in South China.

As the preferred port of voyage for mega-vessels and the international shipping hub in the Greater Bay Area, YANTIAN has outstanding natural advantages. It has a unique 18-metre-deep and 475-metre-wide natural navigation channel in the Greater Bay Area that can allow 7/24 passage of 200,000-ton vessels in both directions with "zero time difference" and "zero tidal range". YANTIAN has 20 deep-water container berths, quay cranes with lifting height of 52 metres, the highest in South China, capable of providing efficient and reliable terminal services. 100% of the world's largest container vessels visiting the Greater Bay Area call at YANTIAN, and many shipping companies make Yantian Port their last port of call for its Europe and US services, and port of call for their intra-Asia services.

ONE INFINITY

"ONE INFINITY", with a carrying capacity of 24,136 TEU, made its maiden call to YANTIAN on July 24. The vessel is equipped with a fixed shore power system, which can be connected to YANTIAN's shore power supply system, the largest one in China, with the highest coverage rate of the berths among Chinese ports, in perfect accord with YANTIAN's philosophy of green development. YANTIAN is the only port of call of the vessel in the Greater Bay Area for its route to Europe.

MSC MARIELLA

"MSC MARIELLA" made its maiden call to YANTIAN on July 20. With a carrying capacity of 24,346 TEU, the vessel and its sister ship "MSC IRINA" are currently the world's largest container vessels. "MSC IRINA" has also called at YANTIAN. This vessel applies the latest R&D achievements of shipbuilding companies in China and intelligent technologies, which can offer safe, energy-saving, and highly intelligent services. It made YANTIAN as the only port of call in the Greater Bay Area, and departed from YANTIAN and travel through Southeast Asia to Europe.

OOCL TURKIYE

"OOCL TURKIYE", with a carrying capacity of 24,188 TEU and a length of 399.99 metres, which can reach the height of a 22-storey building when fully loaded, made its maiden call to YANTIAN on July 16. "OOCL TURKIYE", together with "OOCL SPAIN" and "OOCL PIRAEUS" that were previously the largest vessels berthing at YANTIAN, are deployed on OOCL's Asia-Europe LL3 service, which has YANTIAN as its last port of call in China.

MSC NICOLA MASTRO

"MSC NICOLA MASTRO", with a length of 399.99 metres, a beam of 61.5 metres, a depth of 33.2 meters, and a carrying capacity of 24,116 TEU, can stack up to 25 layers of containers. It made its maiden call to YANTIAN on July 5. The vessel is equipped with a hybrid desulfurisation unit and the latest green, energy-saving, and safety technologies. The vessel has designated YANTIAN as its only port of call in South China.

To better serve the international logistics sector in the Greater Bay Area and cater to the international trade needs of customers in South China, we have suspended the ETB-10 policy since August 1, ensuring the timely departure of calling vessels and saving logistics cost for our customers.
