Since its establishment 30 years ago, YANTIAN has developed into one of the world's largest container terminals. With 20 deep-water berths, YANTIAN records an annual throughput of over 13 million TEU, serving 1/4 of the container volume generated by the Chinese export to U.S. and 1/3 of the foreign trade container traffic of Guangdong province. If those boxes were to be lined up end-to-end, they would encircle the globe nearly twice over.

“These accomplishments we celebrate today are a testament to the continued support from our business partners, customers, governments, shareholders and most importantly the dedication and commitment of our staff,” Lawrence continued.

Endowed with an inimitable natural deep-water port, YANTIAN has the unique channel of approximately 18-metre-deep and 475-metre-wide in the Greater Bay Area of China, allowing two-way navigation for the world's largest containerships in all-weather. Fully loaded mega-vessels can easily depart for anywhere in the world without waiting for the high tide.

Home to the busiest Europe and America shipping routes, YANTIAN has access to most destination ports worldwide via its near-100 weekly services, for example with a daily average of four sailings to Europe and six to the America, i.e. the most frequent calls in the Greater Bay Area. As the last port-of-call in South China, YANTIAN ensures cargo reaches its end destinations as fast as possible – about 22 days to Europe and 13 days to the US West for most sailings.

YANTIAN also offers one of the most extensive and green intermodal solutions in China, harnessing rail and feeder networks. 16 feeder services, 6 port alliances, 12 inland ports and 30 rail-sea services are now in service in the Greater Bay Area, Southwest and Central China.

As a preferred port for cross-border e-commerce, YANTIAN has established convenient and efficient logistics channels, which has grown into an extensive and diversified ecosystem. YANTIAN is also a preferred port for cold chain, contributing to trade of frozen meat and perishable goods such as fresh fruits and vegetables with Americas, Europe, Australia and Southeast Asia. “YANTIAN will continue to work relentlessly with the governments, industry associations and related enterprises for continuous service enhancement.” Lawrence added.
