On16 November 2023, the 30th Anniversary Celebration Ceremony of YANTIAN was successfully held and nearly 300 guests gathered together to celebrate the terminal’s 30th birthday.

Li Zhong, Secretary of the CPC Yantian District Committee, Eric Ip, Group Managing Director of Hutchison Ports and Chairman of Hutchison Ports YANTIAN, Hu Zhaoyang, Secretary of CPC Committee and Chairperson of Shenzhen Port Group, Cai Xin, CPC Committee Member and Deputy Director of Transportation Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality, and Lawrence Shum, Managing Director of YANTIAN, delivered speeches in the ceremony.

Over the past 30 years, YANTIAN has set a number of records in the global port industry, including a new world record of 200 million-TEU throughput achieved by a single terminal in the shortest period of time in only 26.5 years. Last year, Shenzhen's import and export volume hit a record high, meanwhile the city has ranked first in exports in China for 30 consecutive years, in which YANTIAN has played an active role. In the first three quarters of this year, Shenzhen's cumulative import and export totalled CNY2.8 trillion, of which the international trade of Yantian Integrated Bonded Area increased by 18.3% year-on-year. This accomplishment could not have been achieved without the strong support of the government agencies and port supervisory authorities at all levels, the trust and cooperation of our customers and stakeholders at home and abroad, and the concerted efforts of all staff of YANTIAN. In this regard, Lawrence Shum, Managing Director of YANTIAN, expressed his heartfelt thanks to all the guests present.

CPC Yantian District Committee and Yantian District People's Government presented the painting "The Tide Rises in a Major Port" painted by the renowned painter Wang Peiwei to YANATIAN to express their expectation and confidence in the new journey of YANTIAN in the next 30 years and beyond under the close cooperation between the government and YANTIAN.

At the event, each year's staff representatives of YANTIAN since its establishment sang the theme song of 2023 YANTIAN Family Day — "Flowers Blossoming along the Growth Path of YANTIAN" (the video is available at the end of the article) -- in praise of the diligence and perseverance of YANTIAN.
