They eagerly expected ongoing collaboration with YANTIAN to drive the further development of the Yantian Port and appreciated YANTIAN for our role played in terminal operational efficiency and safety management.

Facilitating logistics, ensuring safety, and achieving success
Raymond Chan, Operation Director of Hutchison Ports YANTIAN, emphasised in his opening speech, "In the landscape of international trade, tractors are like 'blood vessels' of the port, which ensure the seamless operation of the supply chain." The optimisation of tractor services bears paramount importance, contributing significantly to the operational efficiency enhancement of the port, increased attraction, regional economic development, and green, low-carbon, and sustainable growth.

Su Juan, the representative from Shenzhen Yantian Integrated Boned Area Investment and Development Co., a subsidiary of Yantian Port Logistics Group, presented a comprehensive overview of the Yantian Port Tractor Comprehensive Service Centre. The service centre is slated to commence operations in early 2024, providing around 2,000 parking spaces. This initiative is designed to tackle the parking issue of tractors, enhance the urban environment, and optimise supporting facilities in the port area. The project is distinguished by five key features: efficient land use, multi-dimensional transportation, ecological architecture, comprehensive services, and intelligent management. Together, these elements contribute to the upgrade of the port's transportation system, ultimately raising the standard of urban facilities and the overall environmental landscape.

As early as August of this year, YANTIAN established a dedicated project team to enhance tractor services. They launched a survey under the theme of "Facilitating logistics, ensuring safety, and achieving success" and collected over 3,000 questionnaires. The project team, led by Lian Zhonghua, gained comprehensive insights into port operations, supporting facilities, safety, and port App systems to understand the needs and expectations of the tractor industry. By visiting tractor companies, they solicited voice of customers to upgrade port services and provide more thoughtful care for drivers.

In response to the feedback collected, YANTIAN has promptly executed a range of measures to improve the service quality:
·Tackle post-typhoon congestion outside the port by allocating additional resources.
·Increase in-gate quotas to support the peak shipping season before the holiday.
·Set up booths within the port to provide catering services for tractor drivers
·Optimise process for damaged container replacement by prioritising pickup and grounding services for containers needing repairment.

·Currently, the registration process for new tractors is both time-consuming and labor-intensive. YANTIAN has already started system development, which is expected to be released by early 2024. This shift from manual to online registration is poised to significantly save both manpower and time.
·Furthermore, proactive efforts are underway to enhance precise navigation. Finding a parking space will become much easier, as tractors can be automatically guided to their operational positions by initiating navigation. Upon reaching the designated spot, they will be identified by the port, facilitating timely arrangements for mechanical operations.
·The inspection and declaration process for dangerous goods entering the port will be enhanced by pre-declaration, eliminating the waiting time at the gate.
·Operational information will be more readily accessible and user-friendly for inquiries. With just a few taps, users can retrieve records of tractor operations, hatch opening times, and receive proactive notifications for violation information.

Strengthening internal management, enhancing service quality to jointly promote the safety and prosperity of Yantian Port
In conclusion, Gary Lam, General Manager of Operation Services and Development of Hutchison Ports YANTIAN, expressed, "We will capitalise on this workshop to persistently enhance service quality and offer unwavering support to the growth of Yantian Port and logistics companies. We extend our gratitude for the support and valuable suggestions from all participating entities. Let us work together to foster the safety and prosperity of Yantian Port, while contributing to Shenzhen's endeavors in establishing itself as a logistics centre with global influence."
