YANTIAN rail-sea service experienced a pivotal year in 2023, steadily advancing our service into the hinterland and achieving a landmark in total throughput, with a remarkable year-on-year growth of 12%.

In the initial days of 2024, we launched two significant events: the cooperation agreement signing ceremony and plaque presentation between YANTIAN and Huaihua International Land Port, coupled with the 2023 Customer Appreciation Event to express our heartfelt gratitude to our valued customers and partners for their continuous collaboration and support.

Be a green world-class port and drive Hunan cargoes to go global
On January 12, amidst a gathering of esteemed leaders and guests, which included Li Chunqiu, Deputy Secretary of the Huaihua Municipal CPC Committee and Mayor, Han Xiaobo, Li Shizhong, Huaihua government leaders, Yang Shijun, Chairperson of New Land-Sea Corridor (Hunan) Co., Ltd. and General Manager of Huaihua International Land Port Co., Ltd., Xue Taotao, Vice President of Shenzhen Port Group, Peng Zhihong, Logistics Director of YANTIAN, and Neville Lam, General Manager of Commercial Department of YANTIAN, as well as representatives from Hunan industry associations, enterprises, scholars, and media journalists, the signing ceremony unfolded. With robust support from both local governments, the collaboration between YANTIAN and Huaihua International Land Port is actively forging a convenient and eco-friendly gateway for Hunan cargoes to reach global markets.

Huaihua International Land Port is set to be the 14th inland port of YANTIAN (also the first port receiving the collaboration accreditation in 2024) and the 5th inland port of YANTIAN in Hunan after Liling, Yueyang, Chenzhou, and Yongzhou.

As the world's largest container terminal run by a single operator, the inauguration of Huaihua Inland Port marks that through efficient railway connections, products from Huaihua can be conveniently transported to Yantian Port. This forward-thinking approach extends Yantian Port's services in Huaihua, leveraging the renowned excellence of YANTIAN in terms of delivering extensive, fast, and premium services, contributing to the expansion of Huaihua's export-oriented industries.

Customer appreciation event
On January 16, Shenzhen Pingyan Multimodal Company Limited (PML) hosted the 2023 Customer Appreciation Event. Nearly 50 customer representatives from Central China, South China, and the Greater Bay Area attended the event.

During the event, participants conducted an extensive review of production and innovative business practices throughout the past year. Despite the challenges posed by an unstable foreign trade environment, there was a collaborative endeavor to establish land ports, initiate rail services, open new services, and diversify strategies for expanding cargo catchment areas. In the face of adversities, rail transport volume experienced a significant upswing, especially with noteworthy growth observed in the Jiangxi and Hunan markets. Notably, rail-sea exports from Central China to YANTIAN saw a remarkable year-on-year increase of over 40% in 2023, contributing to a historic peak in the total throughput of rail-sea intermodal transportation. The overall volume grew by 12% compared to the previous year, marking the 5th consecutive year of our company achieving double-digit growth in rail-sea services.

By far, we have opened 13 inland ports and 31 rail-sea services, extending our services seamlessly across the Greater Bay Area, Southwest, and Central China regions.

The success of the rail-sea service is solely thanks to the enduring trust and support from our esteemed customers. YANTIAN has presented distinguished customers with awards like "Contribution Awards" (Volume Contribution Award, Premier Contribution Award, Outstanding Contribution Award, and Excellent Contribution Award), "Long-Term Cooperation Awards," and "Most Promising Awards."
