Fire Safety for All
November 2024 is the eighth National Fire Safety Publicity Month, with the theme "Fire Safety for All". YANTIAN, in alignment with this theme and tailored to the company's specific needs, has organized a series of activities, including fire safety campaigns, fire drills, fire training sessions, and fire inspections, aimed at promoting fire safety knowledge and encouraging employees to pay more attention to fire safety.
1. Nearly 10,000 participants in online fire safety and hazardous materials training
To enhance employees' fire safety awareness and disseminate vital fire safety knowledge, YANTIAN hosted online training on fire safety and hazardous materials through our online learning platform. Nearly 10,000 employees participated in the training.
2. Fire drills at key locations
To effectively strengthen employees' emergency response skills, a total of 8 fire drills were conducted in November, including: the "YANTIAN Building Fire Evacuation Drill," "No. 3 Fuel Station Emergency Spill Response Drill," "Pingyan Warehouse Fire Evacuation Drill," "Comprehensive Building Fire Evacuation Drill," "Engineering Maintenance Center Fire Evacuation Drill," and "East Port Phase I Fire Evacuation Drill." These drills saw the participation of approximately 1,155 employees.
3. Hands-on fire equipment training
To enhance employees' ability to respond to initial-stage fires, 2 hands-on fire extinguisher training sessions were organized, with 106 participants. Following the practical training, employees gained a comprehensive understanding of the correct use of fire extinguishers, including proper operation techniques, the appropriate distance from the fire source, and self-protection measures during firefighting. This training taught employees how to remain calm and respond effectively in a fire emergency.
4. Specialised fire safety inspections
To promptly identify and mitigate fire hazards, the Safety Committee Office of YANTIAN carried out 5 fire safety inspections in key areas, including the East Port construction site dormitories, fire-prone work zones within the port, leased properties along the Pingyan Railway, port warehouses and fuel stations, as well as hazardous material operation site. A total of 38 hazards were identified and all have been fully rectified.
