The 19th China (Shenzhen) International Logistics and Supply Chain Fair was successfully held at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center from September 25 to 27, 2025. Despite the unprecedented challenges posed by a powerful typhoon, the event radiated exceptional industry enthusiasm and commercial vitality, exemplifying the unwavering spirit of logistics professionals—delivering the mission come rain or shine. As a leading force in port and shipping, YANTIAN made a strong presence at the exhibition, joining hands with global logistics leaders to understand new trends, explore new frontiers, and build collective strength for shared innovation and excellence.

With the theme "Embrace New Era of Global Exploration, Build New Economic Power", this year's fair spanned nearly 130,000 square meters, featuring more than 70 forums and business events, attracting participants from over 60 countries and regions, and bringing together over 2,200 exhibitors and more than 300,000 trade visitors.

Lawrence Shum, Managing Director of Hutchison Ports YANTIAN, was specially invited to attend and deliver a speech at the launch ceremony of the 2025 International Logistics Festival. He remarked, "Since the inauguration of the Fair in 2006, YANTIAN has been a constant presence for 20 consecutive years, steadfastly supporting the high-quality development of international trade in Shenzhen and across China. In 2024, Shenzhen achieved its 32nd consecutive year as the national export leader — a distinction we are proud to share. As a vital bridge within the industry, YANTIAN will continue to work closely with government authorities, associations, and enterprises to further optimise the business environment and jointly create a new chapter of excellence for the logistics sector."

During the exhibition, YANTIAN hosted a customer reception at its booth, welcoming representatives from various levels of the Shenzhen government, major shipping lines, third-party logistics providers, cargo owners, freight forwarders, and members of the Hutchison Ports global network. The gathering fostered exchanges on the latest industry developments and discussions on the future of global shipping and logistics.

At this year's Fair, YANTIAN's booth featured three thematic highlights—the Green Development Display Wall: "Growth without Added Carbon," the Customer Appreciation Wall, and the Rail-Sea Service Display Wall—offering a comprehensive showcase of YANTIAN's vision to build a green, smart, and world-class hub port.

Chen Biao, Deputy Managing Director of Hutchison Ports YANTIAN, delivered a welcome address, stating, "From January to August this year, Shenzhen once again demonstrated remarkable resilience, maintaining an upward trajectory with a total international trade value of CNY2.96 trillion. The city remains the Chinese mainland's top performer and is on track to retain its crown by year-end. YANTIAN is privileged to be part of this achievement and takes great pride in contributing to it. As a pioneer of Shenzhen–Hong Kong cooperation for nearly 32 years, YANTIAN has been dedicated to enhancing the global shipping and logistics hub status of both cities, promoting joint planning and development in port and logistics sectors, and working together to strengthen the Greater Bay Area's international competitiveness."

YANTIAN has long been at the forefront of Shenzhen–Hong Kong cooperation, working hand in hand with Hong Kong's Kwai Tsing Port to ensure seamless connectivity across domestic and international markets. The feeder service between YANTIAN and Hong Kong, which has been in operation for over 31 years, continues to record steady annual growth in container throughput. In 2024, the laden container volume surged by nearly 30%, setting a new all-time high.

Moreover, YANTIAN boasts the only on-dock railway of Shenzhen, and its rail-sea service volumes have maintained positive growth for six consecutive years. This service helps enterprises—particularly those in Chengdu and other inland regions—optimise their import and export logistics, improving efficiency and global competitiveness. To date, YANTIAN has established a comprehensive network of 20 inland ports and 33 rail-sea services, alongside 15 port alliances within the Greater Bay Area, and 17 feeder services.

In March, the Three-Year Action Plan for Quality Development issued by the Department of Transport of Guangdong Province was released which calls for further deepening of YANTIAN–Kwai Tsing cooperation. In June, the General Office of the CPC Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council issued the Shenzhen Comprehensive Reform Pilot 2.0, explicitly encouraging YANTIAN to intensify exploration in areas such as customs facilitation. Once again, YANTIAN has been designated as a testing ground for reform and innovation. Moving forward, YANTIAN will continue to work closely with governments at all levels and its partners to fully leverage the complementary advantages of YANTIAN and Kwai Tsing, strengthening its role as a strategic hub that connects domestic and international markets.

YANTIAN will continue to expand its global shipping network, strengthening supply chain connectivity worldwide and building a higher-standard international shipping hub. The port will contribute to Shenzhen's drive to become a logistics centre with global influence, help consolidate and enhance Hong Kong's position as a leading international maritime hub, and jointly advance the Greater Bay Area's global competitiveness—all while supporting China's dual carbon goals and promoting the high-quality development of international trade.
