On 1 July 2009, YICT received the maiden call of the ACX Diamond, a 3,534-TEU vessel deployed by the consortium of COSCO, Hamburg Süd, MOL and NYK to its JKHN service.

The new Australian service includes six vessels, each with a carrying capacity of about 3,500 TEU, and follows a port rotation of Tokyo, Kobe, Busan, Shanghai, Yantian, Hong Kong, Brisbane, Auckland, New Plymouth, Nelson, Wellington, Lyttelton, Napier and Tauranga.

The new service is the first direct shipment service via Yantian to ports of New Zealand.
