On 14 March 2009, YICT welcomed the maiden vessel call of the Hyundai Bangkok deployed by the New World Alliance (NWA), which is composed of APL, HMM and MOL, to its Asia Europe Express Westbound (AEXWB) Service.
A total of nine vessels have been deployed to the AEXWB service by HMM, among which five vessels have a shipping capacity of 8,000-plus-TEU for each. The new service will call at Yantian every Sunday and follow a port rotation of Gwangyang, Busan, Shanghai, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Yantian, Singapore, Suez Canal, Rotterdam, Hamburg and Thamesport.
