On 23 September 2008, a train loaded with three 40-foot containers of toys bound for the earthquake-hit Mianyang City in Sichuan Province set out from YICT. The toys will be distributed to the local children as presents.
Toy Industry Golf Association (TiGa) sponsored the initiative with the intention of cheering up children affected by the May 12 Earthquake. However, the association members needed a solution to transport the toys economically and effectively. YICT's container rail service, which runs to several inland Chinese destinations, was the logical choice.
In full support of the donation, YICT offered to waive the transport costs of the week-long journey of the toys to Sichuan.
