On 19 August 2008, YICT launched a voluntary blood donation drive, which received generous support from staff. The campaign began at 9:30 am, and a service booth was set up on the spot for consultations, with invited experts providing more information about blood donation. Many YICT staff interviewed thought volunteering for blood donation was a great opportunity to help those in need. Within one day, a total of 137 donors joined in the campaign.

The blood donation drive was part of the programme to aid the victims of the 12 May Sichuan earthquake. Shortly after the earthquake, YICT launched a donation drive in which YICT itself contributed over RMB 3.05 million. YICT also registered immediately for blood donation at the Shenzhen Blood Centre. All these are part of YICT's initiatives to show its care and concern for people in need.
