On 21 January 2008, the "MOL Agility", the first vessel in Mitsui O.S.K. Lines' (MOL) South African Express (ZAX) service, called at YICT.
MOL formed ZAX by consolidating two previous services – a Singapore-Durban shuttle service (also called ZAX), and a route between Shanghai and Singapore (CS1). The new ZAX service now links several ports in China directly to South Africa.
Seven 1,600- to 1,700-TEU vessels have been deployed to the new service, which calls at YICT every Sunday. The route includes the following ports: Shanghai, Xiamen, Yantian, Hong Kong, Singapore, Tamatave, Durban and Maputo.
