On 24 October 2007, YICT welcomed the new WA1 service from Mitsui O.S.K Lines (MOL). This service facilitates the shipping of export cargo from Yantian to major ports in West Africa.
MOL's new service includes nine vessels with a shipping capacity ranging from 2,000 to 2,500 TEU. Every Wednesday, vessels will call at Yantian – the first stop in a port rotation that also includes Hong Kong, Singapore, Port Louis, Tamatave, Durban, Cape Town, Tema, Lomé, Cotonou, Lagos(Apapa) and Abidjan.
In recent years, trade between China and Africa has grown rapidly, and China has become Africa's third-largest trading partner following the United States and France. To meet the growing demand of the shipping market, YICT endeavours to provide customers with a greater number of highly efficient shipping services.
