On 18 April 2007, Dalang (Guangzhou) – Yantian Container Rail Service was launched by YICT and Hasbro, one of the world's well-known toys and games manufacturers. The train carried products from Hasbro's factory in Dalang for export to the United States via YICT. The new service has a carrying capacity of up to 40 compartments, each one capable of being loaded with a 40-foot-plus container. The train takes six hours to reach Yantian from Dalang. Currently, there are two services per week. After trial run, a daily service is expected to expedite cargo transport between the two destinations.
Pingyan Railway is YICT's dedicated railway, which connects both the Beijing-Kowloon line and the Beijing-Guangzhou line. With this facility, YICT is able to extend its one-stop logistics service to the inland catchment areas including Changsha, Nanchang, and other areas in Guangdong province. In recent years, more and more international companies have started to focus on environmental protection in the process of production and transportation. Since the multi-modal transportation service features transporting large amounts of cargo and is extremely cost efficient, environment-friendly and unaffected by fluctuations in the price of fuel, many enterprises that promote "green logistics" have started to choose this alternative. Thus, YICT opened up this rail service with the support of the Ministry of Railways.
Over 60 representatives from Guangzhou Branch of China Railway Container Transport Co., Ltd., shipping lines, Hasbro and YICT attended the launching ceremony at Yantian.
