9,415 TEU "CMA CGM Norma" Maiden Call at YICT

On 28 August 2006,YICT received the inaugural call of "CMA CGM Norma", which is 349 metres long and 42.8 metres wide, with a shipping capacity of 9,415 TEU. "CMA CGM Norma" is the first of eight super mega container vessels deployed in the new European (FAL2) service jointly operated by CMA CGM and China Shipping.

Each of the eight container vessels has a shipping capacity of over 9,000-TEU, putting this service among the leading European services in terms of capacity. It will meet the increasing demand in South China during the peak shipping season. With excellent natural conditions and efficient handling, Yantian Port has attracted more and more super mega container vessels, becoming a preferred port of call in South China for them.

The launch of the FAL2 service has optimized the Asia-Europe services of both CMA CGM and China Shipping. The FAL2 calls at YICT every Saturday with a port rotation of Ningbo, Shanghai, Yantian, Hong Kong, Port Klang, Suez Canal, Le Harve, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Zeebrugge, Suez Canal, Port Klang and Ningbo.
