On 19 December 2005, Yantian International Container Terminals (YICT) in conjunction with Shenzhen Inspection and Quarantine Bureau established an online Inspection and Quarantine Control Centre, to enhance the efficiency of port administration.
The online supervision system enables the bureau to efficiently inspect all cargo entering and exiting YICT. Furthermore, it will be able to monitor and quarantine if necessary any boxes suspected of having originated from areas that have been identified as high risk zones. This on site centre will be staffed even on weekends to ensure the swift and secure processing of cargo.
