On 22 November 2005, Yantian International Container Terminals (YICT) received the award of “Foreign Invested Enterprise with Excellent Economic and Export Performance 2004,” for having made an outstanding contribution to China’s continued economic construction and social development. This national award was devised by the Ministry of Commerce based on the recommendations of the China Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment.
YICT was the only port operator to have received this prestigious award, which had received nominations from around 20,000 other foreign invested enterprises operating in Shenzhen, all nominations were forwarded by the local branches of the China Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment.
This is the latest in a cachet of awards received by YICT this year, which also included; the “2005 Best Container Terminal China” awarded by Cargonews China, “First Place, Top 10 Container Terminals in China, 2004” awarded by the Container Branch of the China Ports Association and “the Best Global Container Port for the year 2005-2006” awarded by the Global Institute of Logistics (GIL).
