On 25 December 2004, "K"Line's container vessel "Akashi Bridge" made its inaugural call to Yantian to commence CKYH's America service, All Water Eastbound 4 (AWE4).
"K"Line has deployed eight vessels each with a shipping capacity of 3,210 TEU in the new service. The AWE4 calls at Yantian every Saturday with a rotation of Ningbo, Shanghai, Yantian, Hong Kong, New York, Norfolk and Savannah.
To the end of 2004, there are 61 weekly services calling at Yantian. They are 36 America services, 18 Europe services, five Asia services, one Australia service and one shuttle service between Yantian and Hong Kong.
