On 30 September 2004, another mega vessel, "MSC Texas", made an inaugural visit at YICT. The vessel is 334 metres long and 42.8 meters wide with a shipping capacity of 8,235 TEU.

Currently, large vessels including "MSC Texas" and 8,235-TEU "CMA CGM Hugo" serve Pearl River Express (PRX), an American service. Jointly operated by MSC and CMA CGM, the service calls at Yantian every Tuesday with the rotation of Xiamen, Chiwan, Hong Kong, Yantian, Long Beach and Oakland.

Along with a trend for shipping lines to deploy more and more mega vessels in their services, YICT has attracted them with its excellent natural conditions and advanced operational facilities and equipment.
