Following the new Europe service AE7 on 22 July 2004 at Yantian, Maersk Sealand launched another new Europe service AE6 three days later. On 25 July, YICT received the inaugural vessel "Maersk Darwin".
Maersk Sealand has deployed eight 4,150-6,000 TEU vessels on the service. The new service calls at Yantian every Sunday with the rotation of Xiamen, Ningbo, Shanghai, Xiamen, Yantian, Hong Kong, Tanjung Pelepas, Suez Canal, Damietta, Gioia Tauro, Genoa, Barcelona, Fos Sur Mer, Gioia Tauro, Suez Canal, Salalah, Jebel Ali, Dubai, Tanjung Pelepas, Hong Kong, Kaohsiung and Xiamen.
Up to now, there are 58 weekly services calling at YICT, including 33 America services, 17 Europe services, five Asia services, two Australia services and one shuttle service between Yantian and Hong Kong.
