Progress Report on Customs Reform in Yantian
A A A 缩小 加大 更大

Since Yantian Port was chosen for the second round of customs reform in February 2004, Shenzhen Customs has paid much attention to the progress of reform. During the last ten days of April, Mr. Zou Zhiwu and Mr. Wu Rongchang, Director and Deputy Director of Shenzhen Customs, convened and chaired meetings with YICT and related shipping companies. At the meetings, the Customs officials not only briefed the companies on their proposed plans for sea port Customs reform, but also listened closely to the companies' suggestions about the plans.

Based on the above, Dapeng Customs set up a special Sea Port Customs Reform Team, and put forward a master plan (Dapeng Customs Port Reform Practical Plan) for this year’s reform. At present, Dapeng Customs is collecting suggestions from companies, and studying detailed operational procedures.

YICT has set up a special project team to co-ordinate with the Customs to conduct a customer survey. In April, the team called on Maersk, Evergreen and COSCO, and e-mailed a questionnaire to other shipping lines to collect their comments and suggestions about current Customs procedures.
