On 19 September 2003, an on-site meeting was held among Yantian Frontier Inspection, Yantian Port Group and YICT to prepare for commencement of Phase III's first berth. Mr. Liu Shunyi, Vice Director of Shenzhen Frontier Inspection Station attended the meeting. An agreement was reached on the issues including the examination and acceptance of the first berth, a 40,000 m2 yard and the installation of necessary facilities for the Frontier Inspection. The Frontier Inspection was confident that they would overcome any personnel shortage and continue to support terminal development by completing necessary preparatory work for the YICT's Phase III project.
