On 7 August 2003, YICT received twelve Rubber-Tyred Gantry Cranes (RTGCs). This follows a delivery of six RTGCs on the 17th of July, part of the same order which includes ten quay cranes and twenty-seven RTGCs for YICT's Phase III Project.
All eighteen RTGCs delivered have a stacking capacity of "one-over-five". The remaining nine RTGCs and ten quay cranes are scheduled to be delivered within the year, in time for the completion of Phase III's first berth on 1st November and the second berth by year end.
In addition, in June YICT also took delivery of two quay cranes and eighteen RTGCs for Phase I & II of the terminal. Following commissioning, this new equipment was brought into operation at the end of the month. This has helped to ensure the operational efficiency of YICT during the peak season.
