On 15 May 2003, YICT welcomed the inaugural container vessel “Heung-A Nagoya” from its new partner, Heung-A Shipping. The new HPS2 Intra-Asia service will call at Yantian every Thursday and has the rotation of Haiphong, Yantian, Busan and Hong Kong.
Providing shipping services to Japan and Southeast Asia, Heung-A Shipping, established in December 1961, is a leader in the Korean shipping industry. With a fleet of 40 vessels including 15 chemical tankers, the company operates container liner, chemical tanker, logistical and port terminal services. The addition of Heung-A Shipping brings the number of shipping lines calling at YICT to 39.
