On 10 May 2002, "CCNI Arica", the first container vessel launched by Compania Chilena de Navegacion Interoceanica S.A (CCNI), arrived at YICT. "CCNI Alica" is 207.4 metres in length with the capacity of 2,564 TEU.
CCNI will deploy three container vessels in the AMPA weekly service, which was previously operated by the other shipping lines including Columbus, Lykes and Maruba.
CCNI is one of the two mega-scaled Chilean shipping companies. It was established in 1929 with its headquarter in Valparaiso, Chile. At present, CCNI provides several container and general cargo shipping services connecting West Coast of South America and other main regions of the world.
