On 27 July, YICT worked with Chi Heng Foundation (CHF), a Hong Kong charity group, to host a one-day trip for a group of 30 students from underprivileged families in central China.

The students began the day at YICT with an overview of port operations, after which they were given a tour of the facilities. The port tour concluded with a boat trip along the quayside. The students were wide-eyed at the sight of the enormous quay cranes, mega vessels and the size of the terminal. The students and YICT volunteers also took an excursion to Dameisha Beach for a sand sculpture activity.

This is the third year in a row that YICT has organised a day-trip for Chi Heng Summer Camp, and approximately 100 students from underprivileged families have participated in the event.
