On 26 May 2017, YICT conducted its 2017 customer communication session, themed “YICT – Your Fastest Gateway to the World”, for around 300 guests. Cargo owners, freight forwarders, railway operators and representatives from shipping lines, warehousing enterprises and related government departments attended the event.
Patrick Lam, Managing Director of YICT, and his management team exchanged ideas with attendees on the latest developments in the logistics and supply chain industry, along with the opportunities and challenges brought about by the age of mega-vessels and grand alliances. Port supervisory authorities brought the guests up to date on the policies and regulations for port clearance. Special guests from Huawei and DHL were invited to share their success stories on exporting/ importing goods via the terminal.
In 2017, YICT continues to optimise the port by upgrading facilities and improving feeder and intermodal services. Berth #16 has been officially put into operation and Phase II of the shore power project has passed inspection. Through these efforts, YICT has succeeded in cementing its status as the preferred port-of-call for mega-vessels and the fastest gateway to the world, attracting calls from ultra-large container vessels.
