On 14 November 2017, Shenzhen Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau (Shenzhen CIQ), Yantian Port Group (YTP) and Hutchison Ports Yantian (Yantian) signed a memorandum of cooperation (MOC). The MOC aimed at optimising clearance procedures and accelerating clearance efficiency at Yantian Port, so as to further promote the inspection and quarantine reforms and boost the Port’s growth. This will help the Port better serve the regional economy, the Belt and Road initiative and the creation of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, thus confirming its status as a global hub port.
In attendance at the ceremony were Zhao Zhenshuan, Director-General of Shenzhen CIQ; Zhao Xinliu, Deputy Director-General of Shenzhen CIQ; Shi Weigan, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Yantian District Committee and Executive Deputy Chief of Yantian District; Wang Yan, Deputy President of YTP; Li Qun, Deputy Director of Yantian Port Construction Command Centre; Patrick Lam, Managing Director of Hutchison Ports Yantian; and Xu Xiaoyang, Deputy Managing Director of Hutchison Ports Yantian.
