On 22 March 2019, YANTIAN held a communication session themed "Ganzhou-Shenzhen, Gateway to the World " in Ganzhou, Jiangxi province. More than 100 guests, including cargo owners and representatives of shipping lines and related government departments, attended the event.
Patrick Lam, Managing Director of Hutchison Ports Yantian, was present at the event and delivered a welcome speech. Representatives of related departments of YANTIAN introduced the latest development of Ganzhou International Port to customers in terms of customer service, operation and port clearance.
Ganzhou International Port is the inland port of YANTIAN, established in March 2017. It is one of China’s largest inland ports in terms of foreign trade container throughput by intermodal service. It is also the demonstration project of “Belt and Road” land-rail-sea multimodal transport. In January 2019, Shenzhen Pingyan Multimodal Company Limited began to operate Ganzhou International Port Phase I, and in the past three months, the sea-rail transport volume between Ganzhou and Yantian has increased by more than 200%.
Moreover, leveraging on YANTIAN’ s dedicated rail facility, Pingyan Railway, the “Ganzhou-Yantian” service under the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, became operational. There are 12 weekly services, seven for import and five for export, with a single trip taking ten hours.
Yantian’s inland port in Ganzhou offers seamless logistics connections between Shenzhen and Ganzhou as well as the four provinces and nine cities around Ganzhou. It has reduced logistics costs for inland importers and exporters, serving as an efficient “Golden Gateway” for inbound and outbound container traffic.
