YANTIAN Welcomes the World's Largest Container Vessel“Ever Ace” on Its Maiden Voyage

On 11 August 2021, the world’s largest container vessel, “Ever Ace” under Evergreen Marine, called at Berth #16 of Hutchison Ports YANTIAN (YANTIAN) on her maiden voyage. Yantian welcomed the vessel with water cannon salute, the highest courtesy of the industry.
“Ever Ace” is 400 meters long and 62 meters wide, with a deck area of nearly four soccer fields, and is 63 meters longer than the world's largest aircraft carrier in service. It has a carrying capacity of 23,992 TEU, which, if being connected end to end, can stretch all the way from Shenzhen to Guangzhou. “Ever Ace” is the first of the ten 24,000-TEU class ultra-large container vessels of Evergreen Marine, and her nine sister vessels will come on stream consecutively.
“Ever Ace” is the largest container vessel calling at YANTIAN Port ever. During its inaugural call to Yantian, over 8,200 TEU will be handled, marking a new record in terms of container volume handled in the ports of call on her maiden voyage. In addition, after completing cargo handling in YANTIAN, the vessel will be loaded with 21,710 TEU, which will set a new world record for the actual carrying volume of a single container vessel.
“Ever Ace” operates on the Evergreen’s Europe Express Service, and YANTIAN is her only port of call in South China. After departing YANTIAN, the vessel will sail directly to Europe and is expected to arrive at the Port of Rotterdam in 23 days.
