At the Shenzhen Port Global Supply Chian High-Quality Development Conference 2026 held in Shenzhen, on 9th July2026, Hutchison Ports YANTIAN (YANTIAN), one of the world's largest container terminals, signed the Memorandum of Understanding on APEC Sister Port Cooperation (MoU) with 16 ports from 10 APEC member economies (i.e. Australia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Peru, Thailand, the United States and Viet Nam). Guided by the shared vision of “Benefitting from New APEC Opportunities, Forging a New Future for Port and Shipping Cooperation”, the participating organizations will collaborate on smart port development, green port technologies, trade facilitation and maritime workforce development.

YANTIAN signed the Memorandum of Understanding on APEC Sister Port Cooperation (MoU) with 16 ports from 10 APEC economies (i.e. Australia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Peru, Thailand, the United States and Viet Nam).
YANTIAN also launched with Shenzhen Port Group, Port of Los Angeles and Port of Long Beach the Shenzhen Port International Green Shipping Corridor Cooperation Initiative, a joint effort to speed up maritime decarbonisation and to develop sustainable supply chain. These parties together with Shenzhen Transportation Bureau and Shenzhen Maritime Safety Administration kicked off the launch during the conference, which brought together nearly 900 representatives from Chinese government agencies, consulate-general of APEC membereconomies, shipping lines, port operators, 3PLs, cargo owners and industry associations to explore new pathways for the high-quality development of global supply chain. The conference served not only as a platform for industry exchange in support of APEC CHINA 2026 but also coincided with the 22nd Maritime Day of China on 11th July.

Jia Liwei, Deputy Director-General of Shenzhen Transportation Bureau, said in the conference “By leveraging world-class ports as a fulcrum and APEC regional cooperation as a bond, Shenzhen will keep strengthening policy guidance and service support, advance in-depth integration of port, shipping, logistics and manufacturing sectors, comprehensively boost trade and investment facilitation as well as the competitiveness of industrial and supply chains, and build more efficient, stable and resilient logistics corridors for Asia-Pacific as well as global connectivity.”
Eric Ip, Group Managing Director of Hutchison Ports, the world’s leading port investor, developer and operator, and Chairman of YANTIAN, shared “as a Chinese port enterprise originating from Hong Kong, China, Hutchison Ports has been deeply engaged in the port sector since the 1990s, investing in, developing, and managing port operations around the world. At the conference, Hutchison Ports also signed a Memorandum of Understanding separately with Midea Group, the global smart home and technology giant, and TCL Industries, a global leader in consumer electronics, to co-create a stable and efficient supply chain to support Midea Group’s and TCL Industries’ global expansion. With YANTIAN as a key strategic anchor point, these partnerships aim to progressively scale up the successful collaboration model established at YANTIAN across Hutchison Ports’ vast global network. All parties will continue to strengthen alignment on a global level, jointly exploring innovative, green and digital logistics solutions to set a new benchmark for smarter, greener and more resilient global supply chain.
