Innovating Intermodal Solution: A New Logistic channel for East China

YANTIAN offers our clients in East China a new option of intermodal transportation: foreign trade commodities may arrive at YANTIAN via the Shanghai-Changping-Yantian railway services, and then directly get loaded onto vessels for export. The entire process takes only a few days. No muss, no fuss. This creative way of shipment exemplifies YANTIAN's proactive promotion of its rail-sea intermodal services among inland export firms in face of the uncertainty in global trade.
Factors including the fast-changing international trade and ongoing pandemic have made the international logistic chain more complicated than ever. As the pandemic prevents clients from conducting the local door-to-port delivery, they have to seek alternative supply chain solutions. Transporting local cargoes to ports in unaffected areas for export is seen as a promising way to counter the challenge.
Only 2 days is needed for laden cargoes to travel from Minhang, Shanghai to Changping, Dongguan via railway services. These cargoes can continue their transportation to YANTIAN on the same day of restowing (exact time dependent on CY closing and shipment schedules). This innovative approach not only proves cost-effective, but also guarantees a timely delivery.
