On 29th September, the world’s biggest container ship “EVER ARIA” made its inaugural call at YANTIAN.
Since the 23,992-TEU “EVER ACE” made its inaugural call on 11th August, 2021, YANTIAN has welcomed 10 Evergreen container vessels with equivalent scale, reaching a total operation of 141,243 TEUs. If these containers are connected one by one, they will stretch out 861 kilometres (approximately the distance from Shenzhen to Changsha).
At 400 metres long and 62 metres wide, “EVER ARIA” is capable of carrying 24,004 TEUs. She is 63 metres longer than the largest aircraft carrier in the world, with her deck covering an area of 4 football pitches.
YANTIAN has the unique channel of 18 metres deep and 475 metres wide in the Greater Bay Area (GBA), allowing two-way navigation for 200,000-DWT vessels in all weathers. Not only do 100% of the ultra-large container vessels visiting GBA call at YANTIAN, it is also the last port of call of European, U.S., and Intra-Asian services of various carriers. We will continue to upgrade our deep-water berths and operation technologies, so as to build a greener, smarter and safer world-class port.
Being the GBA hub port for international shipping takes a lot of responsibility and commitment. Currently, the simultaneous calling of 6 mega-vessels at YANTIAN has become the “new normal”. Along with development of the East Port, we expect to see more mega-vessels to gather at YANTIAN in the near future.
YANTIAN is committed to fostering Shenzhen’s marine economy,
Keeping the GBA supply chain safe and secure,
And assisting the quality development of China’s foreign trade.
