While keeping improving international trunk services, YANTIAN has been sparing no effort to develop intermodal services, which yielded remarkable results.

In 2022, the total throughput of YANTIAN's intermodal service increased by 10% year-on-year, a new record. In December, both the rail throughput and the container volume of feeders set new records for a single month, and the total feeder throughput increased by about 17% year-on-year. 

01 Keep expanding feeder network

Since 2022, YANTIAN has been working closely with ports in the Greater Bay Area and launched many new services, such as the YANTIAN-Dongguan Port Alliance and the YANTIAN-Zhongshan Port Alliance. In November, YANTIAN welcomed several new feeder services from Zhongshan Shenwan and Zhuhai Gaolan to Yantian Port. Currently, our feeder services have covered most of the river ports in the Greater Bay Area and 14 other ports, including Shantou and Qinzhou.

On February 1, the YANTIAN-Dongguan Port Alliance was officially opened. On June 1, the "YANTIAN-Dongguan Port Alliance & Bay Area Express Service" promotional event was jointly held by YANTIAN and Dongguan Bay Area Express Group.

On March 1, we launched the "YANTIAN-Hong Kong" COSCON daily express service.

On November 9, the new feeder service from Shenwan Port to Yantian Port was successfully inaugurated. The new service calls at YANTIAN twice a week.

On November 21, the first direct feeder service from Gaolan Port to Yantian Port was officially launched. The new service calla at YANTIAN three times a week.

02 Drive intermodal service development to expand the cargo catchment areas

In 2022, YANTIAN established more inland ports and launched new intermodal services to expand its cargo catchment areas, maintaining steady business growth. We had four new inland ports in Longchuan, Yueyang, Jiangmen, and Nanchang, bringing the total to 10; seven new intermodal services in Guangdong, Jiangxi, and Hunan, bringing the total to 27.

On January 18, the YANTIAN-Jiangmen intermodal service was officially launched.

On March 21, YANTIAN launched the "Dongguan-YANTIAN-Hong Kong" intermodal express service to ensure direct and speedy transportation of supplies to Hong Kong with "one container to the end".

On May 10, a ceremony was held to mark the launch of the Longchuan Inland Port, YANTIAN's 7th inland port, in Heyuan City, Guangdong Province.

On June 22, YANTIAN held an intermodal service promotion and customer communication event in Changsha. We signed a statement of cooperation with Xiangyuefei International Logistics to develop the YANTIAN-Zhuzhou Inland Port Alliance.

On June 23, the ceremony marking the establishment of YANTIAN's Inland Port in Yueyang, our 8th inland port, and the kick-off of the container rail service was held in Yueyang.

On July 21, the plaque unveiling ceremony and the promotion event of YANTIAN’s Inland Port in Jiangmen, our 9th inland port, was held in Jiangmen.

On September 28, we opened the 10th inland port in Nanchang, Jiangxi.

In 2022, both of the total throughput of YANTIAN's feeder and intermodal services exceeded last year's total. By establishing more inland ports in more regions, launching new feeder services, and promoting the port alliances, we can expand our services to more inland areas and allow importers and exporters in South China to ship their cargoes in a more efficient manner. We will continue to improve our intermodal service level and provide premium terminal services to more customers.
