On 24 April 2023, YANTIAN Sea-Rail Service Promotion Event was held in Chongqing.

Over 200 guests, including Peng Xi, Director of Railway Logistics Department of Chongqing Port and Logistics Office, He Tao, Deputy Director of Freight Department of China Railway Chengdu Group, Ge Xinyue, Director of Chongqing Customs Supervision Department, He Jian, Director of Shenzhen Customs Supervision Department, Zhang Yijhong, Director of Freight Department of China Railway Guangzhou Group, Xu Min, Deputy Director of Department of Port and Shipping Administration of Shenzhen Transport Bureau, Luo Huanliang, Deputy Director of Dapeng Customs, Wang Bingxuan, Deputy Director of Chongqing Representative Office of Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Chen Biao, Secretary of Board of Directors of Shenzhen Port Group, and representatives of YANTIAN attended this event.

Although Chongqing and YANTIAN are thousands of miles apart, we have always been closely connected by busy rail networks. As early as 2010, Chongqing opened the "Chongqing-Shenzhen" sea-rail channel, which transports cargoes from Chongqing to Shenzhen to be shipped to the rest of the world. During the peak period, 6 trains a week run on the dedicated railway of YANTIAN, which effectively saves logistics cost for local exporters. To this day, Yantian Port is still one of the main ports for cargo import and export in Chongqing.

With the strong support of governments at all levels, customs, port supervisory authorities etc., YANTIAN and Chongqing International Logistics Group signed the YANTIAN-Chongqing International Logistics Group Cooperation Agreement on Sea-Rail Service Platform Construction, which is a great opportunity for YANTIAN to improve its sea-rail services, a milestone in the development of Chongqing-YANTIAN sea-rail services, ushering in a new chapter for the cooperation between the two sides.

During the event, YANTIAN and Chongqing Sea-Rail Service teams made a detailed introduction of the new service. This promotion event also included a Q&A session, during which the YANTIAN team answered questions from the audience.

The new cooperation agreement not only responds to China's "double carbon" goals, but also better serves Chongqing and the Southwest China economic circle to be better connected with the Greater Bay Area, driving the interconnection between the domestic and the global economy flows. By seamlessly connecting Chongqing with Yantian Port through sea-rail services,  Chongqing enterprises can enjoy port services at their doorsteps and share port and railroad resources, creating an export-oriented industrial system by taking advantage of the international hub port, ascending the international trade to a new level.

Looking ahead, YANTIAN will continue to work together with all parties involved to improve the network of multimodal service and leverage Shenzhen's role as a national port logistics hub, contributing to the quality development of the Greater Bay Area, supporting China's peak carbon emission and carbon neutrality targets, and securing the supply chain and the industry chain.
