The Asia Fruit Logistica 2023 was grandly opened from September 6-8 in Hong Kong. As the only container terminal representative from the Chinese mainland, YANTIAN worked hand in hand with upstream and downstream cold chain enterprises to explore the optimal solution for the import and export of fresh fruits and vegetables by sea.

Asia Fruit Logistica 2023 welcomed more than 700 exhibitors from 43 countries and regions to showcase their flagship products and services of fresh fruits and vegetables, logistics, machinery, technology, and packaging. YANTIAN joined new and existing customers to gain insights into the latest industry trends and share our strengths and latest information on fresh goods import.

A preferred port for cold chain imports in South China

Over the years, YANTIAN has vigorously developed the cold chain service, and is now a preferred port for cold chain imports in South China, a hub port for importing cold chain fresh goods from Americas, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia, and other regions to China. We are the largest port for imported frozen meat in South China, accounting for over 95% of all frozen meat imports in Shenzhen. Meanwhile, fruit import service is also a noteworthy highlight. In 2022, YANTIAN has imported 6 times more fruit on a year-over-year basis.

On January 16 this year, loaded with about 500 containers of cherries, the Chilean AX1 direct express arrived at YANTIAN. As early as in September last year, Dapeng Customs arranged a communication session with cold chain importers to ensure that the cherries declared in advance completed all the clearance and release processes on the day of unloading and could be quickly delivered to the fruit wholesale market, and some customers even picked up the goods within 10 minutes after unloading.

Strong support from the Customs, comprehensive and diversified services

YANTIAN actively works with the Customs to ensure the efficient and smooth flow of cold chain imports. We have set up a special project team internally to optimise our operational process and improve clearance efficiency in response to customers' needs.

Through the "Smooth Port Service Initiative" jointly held with Dapeng Customs, we have realised one-stop customs clearance for time-critical cargoes such as fresh fruits, plant seeds, and dangerous goods. To the fastest extent possible, inspection, sampling, and container pick-up operations can be completed on the same day once cargoes are unloaded.

YANTIAN is now equipped with 4,300 reefer plugs in the container yard dedicated for cold chain products, and there are 2 temperature-controlled Customs inspection facilities for reefer cargoes and 1 Customs-designated supervisory site to ensure fast inspection and releasing for reefer cargoes. 

We also have 6 reefer warehouses with a total capacity of about 200,000 tons within three kilometers radius from the terminal to provide one-stop and end-to-end fresh and frozen food services to the Greater Bay Area and even the whole country. Our main partners include Shenzhen's largest frozen and normal temperature bonded warehouses, multi-functional, multi-temperature reefer warehouses, and many cold chain enterprises with nearly 20 years of professional cold chain related services.

Approximately 100 services to destination worldwide

YANTIAN gives full play to its role as an international shipping hub port in the Greater Bay Area and has worked closely with shipping lines to offer approximately 100 international services to destinations worldwide.  

We will continue to vigorously develop our import service and attract more shipping services to call at YANTIAN through the cooperation with shipping lines, so as to facilitate the import of goods from all over the world. On the other hand, we will also strengthen communication with our customers and provide them with one-stop and all-round services to meet their business needs.
