On August 26, Shenzhen Special Economic Zone's 43rd birthday, the first train fully-loaded, which is under Chongqing-Shenzhen Rail-sea Express Service departed from Chongqing and travelled 1,862 kilometers southward, arriving at YANTIAN, Shenzhen, within three days. On the same day, YANTIAN successfully held the launch ceremony of Chongqing-Shenzhen Rail-sea Express Service.

Chongqing-Shenzhen Service, as the first rail-sea intermodal service in Chongqing, was opened as early as in 2010. During peak seasons, 6 trains will arrive at YANTIAN a week, significantly saving logistics cost for exporters. The Chongqing-Shenzhen Rail-sea Express Service is an upgraded version of the existing services and opens up a new channel for the interconnection of domestic and international trade.

Harness foundation to connect Chongqing and Shenzhen

At the end of April this year, under the strong support of Chongqing and Shenzhen governments at all levels, customs and port inspection departments, YANTIAN and Chongqing International Logistics Group signed the YANTIAN-Chongqing Rail-Sea Intermodal Service Cooperation Agreement, showing our determination to strengthen the rail-sea intermodal service cooperation between the two places, laying a solid foundation for the newly upgraded service to better serve local enterprises in Chongqing.

In early July, Chongqing Commerce Committee and Hong Kong Trade Development Council jointly organised the "2023 Hong Kong Enterprises Tour to Chongqing" (the first Hong Kong business delegation to Chongqing after the visit of the Chief Executive of Hong Kong to Chongqing to mutually launch the Hong Kong-Chongqing cooperation mechanism). Multi-party efforts to deepen cooperation between Chongqing and Shenzhen

In his speech, Lawrence Shum sincerely thanked Chongqing Port and Logistics Office, Chongqing Commerce Committee, China Railway Chengdu, China Railway Guangzhou, Shenzhen Transport Bureau, Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Shenzhen Port Group, and DB Schenker for their strong support. Chen Biao, Secretary of the Board of Directors of Shenzhen Port Group, introduced the cooperation advantages of Shenzhen Port. Wei Weihao, Director of Ocean Freight Department (South China) of DB Schenker expressed Schenker's determination of actively participating in the cooperation and strengthening its service supply. Cai Xin, Deputy Director of Shenzhen Transport Bureau, emphasised the importance of building a Chongqing-Shenzhen rail-sea intermodal service platform based on the linkage of ports in the two places. Peng Xi, Director of Railway Department of Chongqing Port and Logistics Office, said that Chongqing-Shenzhen Rail-sea Express Service offers more choices for Chongqing's export-oriented economy and international trade enterprises.
