Utilizing shared port resource advantages
As the world's leading port investor, developer and operator, Hutchison Ports operates 53 ports and terminals in 24 countries and regions including Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, the Americas and Australasia. YANTIAN and NICT, as parts of Hutchison Ports' global network of port and logistics operations, have access to services and resources enjoyed by companies within the Hutchison Ports Group to provide customers with unparalleled services.

Enabling sustainable and efficient global shipping through abundant cargo supply
Nanhai, a place in a millennium of history, emerges as a pivotal manufacturing hub in Guangdong and a crucial cross-border e-commerce nexus in South China. Boasting a diverse range of merchandise, from electronics to furniture, hardware, and toys, the district has witnessed a surge in cross-border e-commerce activities, with Shenzhen achieving a new pinnacle in 2023. YANTIAN, established as the preferred port for cross-border e-commerce in South China, serves as a central pivot extending its influence nationwide. A substantial portion of cargoes exported through e-commerce from Nanhai transits through Yantian Port, where port alliances form the backbone of the supply chain. This model facilitates the use of shuttle feeder services in place of tractors, enabling each vessel to transport multiple cargoes. This not only diminishes emissions but also alleviates road congestion, paving the way for environmentally friendly and efficient overseas shipping.

Moreover, to accommodate the varying container pickup schedules of cross-border e-commerce customers on weekdays and weekends, YANTIAN offers two fixed weekly services. This ensures seamless connections between cross-border e-commerce cargoes and the frequent fast shipping services departing from YANTIAN, fully meeting the time efficiency demands of cross-border e-commerce.

Optimising clearance processes for convenient global trade
On the morning of February 23, “Zhenyuan 070”, fully loaded with cargoes from Nanhai, called at YANTIAN for transshipment to a larger vessel bound for Los Angeles, U.S., heralding the triumphant debut of the Nanhai-YANTIAN express service. Under this pioneering initiative, customs clearance has been localised, allowing cargoes arriving at Sanshan Port of Nanhai to undergo clearance locally, echoing the procedures at Yantian Port. Products from Foshan and its surrounding areas seamlessly integrate into YANTIAN's premier international shipping services via the port alliance, capitalising on YANTIAN's resilient logistical framework. With refined processes entailing just one customs declaration, one inspection, and one release, substantial efficiencies in time, manpower, and logistics expenditure are achieved, driving trade prosperity and engendering seamless global market access.

Foshan Nanhai-Shenzhen YANTIAN is the 9th port alliance service introduced by YANTIAN in the Greater Bay Area. Empowered by steadfast customs support, YANTIAN has led the charge in pioneering the inaugural port alliance (Huizhou-YANTIAN), replicating it across diverse regions, expanding its scope, and bestowing amplified convenience and cost-effectiveness upon a multitude of foreign trade enterprises.

In the future, YANTIAN is steadfast in our commitment to robustly implementing national strategic development plans, embracing the mantle of the preferred port for cross-border e-commerce in South China, and propelling forward port alliances in the Greater Bay Area. We will expand our network, establish ties with more river ports, and play an active role in elevating the shipping hub to greater heights, all while ensuring the stability and seamlessness of industrial and supply chains. These initiatives will not only facilitate the achievement of carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals but also foster the high-quality advancement of international trade in China.
