At the event, representatives from YANTIAN and Meizhou Comprehensive Bonded Zone gave presentations on business and policies. Their insights helped all attendees develop a more comprehensive understanding of the distinctive appeal of the YANTIAN-Meizhou rail-sea service.
Meizhou International Land Port is adjacent to the Meizhou Comprehensive Bonded Zone. Through the strategic linkage with the Meizhou Comprehensive Bonded Zone, coupled with the synergistic "port-port integration" with YANTIAN, Meizhou International Land Port is forging a more efficient and seamless logistics network and a development framework that boosts both internal circulation and external connectivity. This drives Meizhou to accelerate its "integration with the bay and access to the sea," infusing renewed vigor into its pursuit of high-quality development.
Pre-positioned port services facilitate global accessibility
Rail transport boasts strong carrying capacity, low transportation costs, minimal constraints from natural conditions during transportation, and high stability. With the establishment of Meizhou Inland Port, enterprises can complete container pickup and return operations locally. With the inland port, YANTIAN’s port services are moved forward to Meizhou, allowing customers to enjoy all world-class port services right in Meizhou. This enables more convenient global trade through YANTIAN 's "buy globally, sell globally" approach.
Working together to reach the "dual carbon" goals
The establishment of the Meizhou International Land Port signifies YANTIAN's 13th inland port and its first in East Guangdong. According to relevant data, the carbon emission ratio between railways and highways stands at approximately 1:11. Each operation of a sea-rail service results in a reduction in carbon emissions equivalent to that of 100 heavy trucks. This is of paramount importance in mitigating environmental pollution and accidents, cutting down energy consumption costs, alleviating road traffic congestion, restructuring transportation frameworks, and advancing the "dual carbon" goals.
As of now, YANTIAN has established 13 inland ports, 31 sea-rail services, 10 port alliances, and 17 feeder services, effectively extending our services throughout the Greater Bay Area, Southwest, and Central China regions. YANTIAN is the only port in Shenzhen having direct railway access, and we remain steadfast in our commitment to the delivery of stable, efficient, and environmentally friendly railway transport services. Looking ahead, YANTIAN will continue to work together with all parties involved to improve the network of intermodal service. By leveraging the role of Shenzhen as a port-based national logistics hub, we will strive to better serve the quality growth of international trade of China, contribute to the country's peak carbon emission and carbon neutrality targets, and secure the supply chain and the industrial chain.
