The Port of Los Angeles and YANTIAN stand as vital hubs within the global trade network, promising fruitful collaboration in the arena of environmentally sustainable ports. This agreement marks the dawn of a new era of eco-conscious partnership between the two ports.

The Port of Los Angeles is the largest port in the US and the 16th largest container port globally, serving as a crucial gateway for international trade in North America. Renowned as one of the world's busiest seaports, it plays an indispensable role in facilitating global commerce. YANTIAN has the most extensive services to Europe and US in South China, notably the "YANTIAN -  The Port of Los Angeles" service, with 7 weekly sailings. This enables the establishment of a streamlined and efficient maritime logistics corridor connecting the two regions. Serving as the last port of call in China for most services, YANTIAN ensures the swift delivery of cargoes to their destination ports, with arrivals in the US within a mere 12.5 days. Additionally, YANTIAN holds the distinction of being the fourth globally and the first in South China to provide LNG bunkering services. Honoured with the "Best Green Container Terminal" award three times in four years, YANTIAN spearheads efforts in carbon reduction and pollution mitigation. It steadfastly aligns with national environmental directives and collaborates closely with sister ports, shipping companies, and cargo owners to seize development opportunities while minimising emissions.

Over the past 10 years (2014-2023), YANTIAN's annual throughput has increased by 24%, while its per-container carbon emissions have decreased by 33%.
