On the afternoon of June 17, the first train serving the sped-up Chongqing-Shenzhen Rail-Sea Service departed from Chongqing Tuanjiecun Station and arrived at YANTIAN. The train was loaded with cargoes like motorcycle parts and LCD screens, which will directly board linehaul vessels at YANTIAN for shipment to Europe and other global destinations.
Since June 15, following the implementation of the third-quarter schedule by railway authorities, transit times for cargoes from Chongqing to Shenzhen have been dramatically reduced from 5 days to just 2 days. Leveraging YANTIAN's renowned international shipping services, shipments now reach the US in just 12.5 days and Europe in 22 days.
To ensure the seamless operation of this inaugural train, railway authorities have provided extensive support. They established a dedicated service team for the Chongqing-Shenzhen Rail-Sea Service, streamlined processes tailored to the train's requirements, and offered priority services for ticketing, loading, and transportation operations. These proactive measures ensure the train's stability, cost-effectiveness, and punctual delivery of cargoes.
Following the successful launch of the sped-up intermodal service, cargoes from Southwest China can now be exported directly from YANTIAN in Shenzhen or efficiently transferred via feeders to Kwai Tsing Port in Hong Kong, ensuring rapid market access across Asia, South America, and beyond.
Kwai Tsing Port primarily serves Asian and South American markets, boasting the highest number of Intra-Asia and South America services in South China, while YANTIAN focuses on Europe and US, with Europe and US services making up around 80% of the total volume. The partnership between YANTIAN and Kwai Tsing creates a synergistic relationship, leading to mutual benefits for all parties involved and promoting high-quality international trade development in the Chengdu-Chongqing region. This partnership establishes new connections between this twin-city economic circle and the Greater Bay Area, injecting renewed vigor into Chongqing's inland opening-up strategy and facilitating seamless domestic and international dual-circulation development. In this way, we can foster a mutually beneficial and win-win environment among Chongqing, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong.
As the exclusive railway with direct access to YANTIAN, YANTIAN rail-sea service has experienced double-digit growth over the past five years, from 2019 to 2023, reaching an unprecedented peak in 2023.
As of now, we have 14 inland ports, 31 rail-sea services, 13 port alliances, and 17 feeder services, serving the Greater Bay Area, Southwest, and Central China regions.
YANTIAN is dedicated to championing the high-quality expansion of international trade in the Chongqing-Shenzhen-Hong Kong region, supporting Shenzhen in hastening the establishment of a logistics hub with global influence, bolstering Hong Kong's status as a premier international shipping and trading centre, and jointly achieving the goals of "benefiting Shenzhen and Hong Kong" with other stakeholders. Together, we will enhance the international competitiveness of the Greater Bay Area, contribute to the China's "dual carbon" goals, and propel the high-quality advancement of international trade.
