In the new era for economic development, the importance of seizing the American market cannot be overstated. To the north lies the traditional US market, a major destination for manufacturing exports, while to the south, the emerging Latin American market presents vast opportunities. Mexico, with its geographical advantage, favourable policies, industrial foundation, and expansive market, has developed a robust industrial structure centred around automotive, machinery, and electronics. This positions Mexico not only as a strategic gateway for Chinese enterprises expanding into the Americas but also generates a siphon effect, catalysing significant demand throughout the entire supply chain.

PART 01
Strong momentum from the "new three" and preferred port for new energy vehicle and part export

In 2023, Shenzhen’s exports reached CNY2.46 trillion, securing its position as the leading mainland city in export scale for the 31st consecutive year, with a stronghold in electromechanical products. The "New Three" exports demonstrated robust momentum, collectively growing by 33.9%. Electromechanical products topped the list of cargoes exported via YANTIAN to Mexico in 2023.

As early as September 30 last year, through the joint efforts of Shenzhen Customs, Shenzhen Maritime Safety Administration, and YANTIAN, a customised containerisation transportation model was launched for car manufacturers. Initially, this model allowed for the transport of three cars per container, but it has since been upgraded to accommodate four cars per container. This upgrade significantly reduces transportation costs per vehicle and shortens waiting time by 2 to 3 days per container.

YANTIAN now offers a comprehensive range of services, from inspection and containerisation to transportation, utilising both "land and rail" modes. Collaborating with professional teams in logistics, transportation, and shipping lines, we provide car manufacturers with a one-stop logistics service from the factory to major overseas ports. This initiative is gradually building an automotive export service chain that encompasses "port + logistics + trade," fully supporting Shenzhen's efforts to develop a "new world-class automobile city" and facilitating the international expansion of China's new energy industry.

PART 02

China has maintained its position as Mexico's second-largest global trading partner for several consecutive years. As a critical hub in the global supply chain, YANTIAN handles more than 1/3 of Guangdong Province's international trade imports and exports, as well as over 1/4 of China’s exports to the US. According to the data released by the Container Branch of China Ports and Harbours Association, YANTIAN's annual throughput has been in the first place among terminals in Chinese mainland for 20 consecutive years. Looking ahead, YANTIAN aims to further expand its service network, uphold a customer-centric service approach, foster strong partnerships, and continue developing customised supply chain solutions to meet evolving customer needs.

We will continue to support Shenzhen in accelerating its development into a logistics centre with global influence, empowering the high-quality growth of international trade of China.
