YANTIAN Blockchain-Based Paperless Bill of Lading Switch Platform Launched!
A A A 缩小 加大 更大

On July 18, at YANTIAN, the first online paperless cargo release operation for imported LCL containers was successfully completed in just 24 minutes. This milestone, achieved in cooperation with COSCO Shipping Lines South-China, and China Ocean Shipping Agency Shenzhen, addresses Shenzhen's long-standing challenge of releasing LCL containers online, offering customers efficient and secure online cargo services.

YANTIAN blockchain-based paperless bill of lading switch platform
The platform is the first system in the port and shipping industry to use blockchain technology for full-process traceability and CA certification for corporate and personal authentication and online electronic signing, and it also supports the paperless release of imported cargoes by one vessel with one shipping agent. This system is a key project supporting the digitalisation of maritime trade in Shenzhen. By leveraging the traceability, tamper-proof nature, distributed network structure, and identity management advantages of blockchain (+ CA certification), it fosters an interconnected port ecosystem, promotes cross-domain information exchange, and provides the optimal technical solution for complete data flow and application scenarios.

Carriers, consignees, freight forwarders, ports, shipping agents, and other supply chain participants can now achieve seamless and trusted collaboration through the system. Consignees and bill of lading switch agents can handle all processes involving carriers and terminals on the blockchain, enabling a fully paperless import cargo release process at the discharge port.

Smart blockchain platform
This platform plays a crucial role in accelerating digital and smart transformation, driving high-quality development at the port. The paperless bill of lading switch platform is the first application system developed on this smart blockchain platform. Moving forward, we will build more application systems on this platform to further advance shipping digitalisation.

Intensive logistics
Precise regulation
Smart operation
Visualised process

The platform connects port supervisory authorities, shipping companies, cargo owners, agents, barges, railways, warehousing and transportation services, river ports, and inland ports through a highly trusted data network. This integration enables high coordination and data sharing across the port and shipping ecosystem, significantly enhancing overall port logistics efficiency, improving the timeliness and security of information transmission, and providing customers with more convenient and high-quality services. Ultimately, the platform achieves intensive logistics, smart operation, visualised process, and precise regulation.
